Mrs. Judy Manoogian holds a Masters of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as licenses from the Division of Professional Licensure from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Educator's Certificate from the Massachusetts Department of Education. Each of these bodies require continuing education to maintain these licenses.
The speech-language pathologist evaluates, provides direct service and consults with staff and parents regarding the various communication disorders of children within our school system. These communication disorders include: expressive (oral language) and receptive (comprehension) language, auditory acuity and perceptual skills, fluency (stuttering), voice, articulation,and pragmatics (social language.). Presently, Mrs. Manoogian provides speech/language services primarily to fifth and sixth grade students.
 Mrs. Manoogian's interest in study skills has led to the development of a study skills curriculum for Grades 5 and 6. Topics that she shares with students and parents include organization, listening skills, note taking, and test taking strategies (Including MCAS open response question strategies).
